Studebaker re-introduced the pre-war name of President in 1955 for a luxury version of the Champion and the Commander. There was a special version known as the President Speedster finished in a three-colour paint job and with all the gimmicks the factory could think of. The Speedster had the new Pacemaster V-8 engine of 4,249 cc capacity and power output of 188 bhp.
