Overview

Produced: 1950-1955, 12786 produced.
Types: Saloon, 4 doors, 4 seats
Coupe
Convertible
The Aurelia appeared with a 1,754 cc V-6 engine in 1950 and its engine grew in size up to 1991, to first 2,266, then 2,451 cc and power increased from 58 to 118 bhp.  The mechanical aspects of the Aurelia were designed by automobile engineer Vittoria Jano who was renowned for his racing cars, so it is not surprising that the small Aurelia was powered by a motor with overhead camshaft and had the gearbox incorporated with the differential of the De Dion rear axle.  A number of fine cars arose out of the Aureilia: both big ones seating up to seven and small two seaters which won races.  The Aurelias were exceptionally good-looking cars.  The coupe and convertible were built by Pinninfarina.
