Borgward had more success with the Lloyd. This midget car was launched in 1950. The German nickname for this car implied it was held together with sticking plasters. The body was made of three-ply covered with leather and the car was powered by a 293 cc twin-cylinder engine that produced 10 bhp and could reach 47 mph (75 kph). The engine grew to 386cc in 1953 and with it the model name changed from Lloyd 250 to Lloyd 400.
