The Lea-Francis Fourteen was a pre-war design with fixed axles front and back and mechanical brakes. Wilson pre-selector semi-automatic transmission could be fitted as an option. From 1949 this model had independent front suspension.
The company did not manage to sell the Twelve or Fourteen in large volumes with only 326 cars being built in 1946. This had risen in 1948 to 551. Although demand rose steadily, with the best result being achieved in 1950 with more than 700 cars being sold, it remained too few to keep the company going.
