Maserati added its new Mexico model to its range in 1966 which effectively replaced the old Sebring model. Maserati used a combination of a shortened Quattroporte chassis and Vignale coachwork to create the Mexico, which was powered by the usual Maserati quad-cam V8 engine.
Two different V8 engines were available for the Mexico, a 260bhp 4.1 litre and also a 330bhp 4.7 litre unit. Both engines could be specified with either manual or automatic transmission. Production of the Mexico continued until 1972.
