Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider

Overview

Produced: 1962-1965, 9250 produced. (Spider)
Types: Convertible, 2 doors

Alfa Romeo introduced two new sports models in 1962, the Giulia Spider and Giulia Spider Veloce. The new Spiders had attractive two seat open bodies complete with a dramatic, but non-functioning, bonnet scoop, although there are slots on the front of the hood bulge under the chrome trim strip on some '65 Spider Veloce and the same slots on other 1600 spider hoods, both standard and veloce versions.

The Giulia Spider used a 92bhp four cylinder engine with a single carburettor. The more sporting Spider Veloce version used a twin-carb version of the same engine which produced around 112bhp.

Production of both Giulia Spider versions continued until 1965. In that time Alfa Romeo had built over 9,000 examples.
