The entry model to the Alfa Romeo GTV type coupe range was always the GT Junior. The GT Junior first appeared in 1966 with the introduction of the 1300 (1290cc) model and from 1972 a 1.6 version models was also available.
Externally the Junior models looked similar to their bigger engined sisters. Distinguishing features included single headlamps and hubcaps. For buyers looking for more power a special twin-plug GTA model was also built in very small numbers (less than 1,000). Production of the GT Junior coupes finished in 1977.
