Ferrari 275GTB

Overview

Produced: 1964-1966, 450 produced.

Ferrari launched the successor to the 250 dynasty at the 1964 Paris Motor Show, the 275 family had arrived. Powered by the last of the successful lie of "Colombo" V12 engines, now in 250bhp, 3286cc form. The engine breathed via three Weber carbs as standard, six carbs were available to special order, gaining another 20bhp or so. The car was also the first Ferrari to feature the famous "Trans-axle" layout that is still a layout to be found in contemporary Ferraris.

Standard coachwork was of steel construction with some aluminum panels although a lightweight version was also offered for competition use. Due to the cars 150mph performance early cars had a tendency to "lift" at the front at high speed, later cars had a "long nose" front to combat this. 455 cars were produced from 1964-66.
