The last of the true front engined Ferrari sports cars, the 365GTB/4 and GTS/4 (open spyder version) were both more commonly known as the "Ferrari Daytona". The Daytona was of a conventional 2 door, 2 seater sports coupe layout, (or 2 seater spyder) styled by Pininfarina.

The reworked V12 displaced 4390cc and propelled these stunning cars to a top speed of 174mph, making the Daytona the fastest road cars in the world.

Early Daytona's had a Perspex headlamp panel with the lights mounted behind, later cars used a much neater pop-up lamp design.

Of coarse both types had those famous wrap-round side/indicator lamps, on both sides of the chisel nose front, rumored to have been copied by none other than Rover stylists for their 70s SD1!!, an unusual complement. Just over 1400 Daytona's were produced from 1968-1974, most GTS/4 spyders were exported to the USA.
