Riley launched its new post-war RM saloon models in late 1945, possible due to development work which had carried on during WWII, smallest of the range was the 1.5 RMA. The RMA had all the "right" Riley ingredients including a twin camshaft 1496cc engine and traditional style coachwork mounted on a separate chassis.
The Riley had very pleasing lines, often finished in two-tone paint and always with a fabric covered roof. The saloon offered reasonable interior space and sumptuous leather and wood trim. Unfortunately due to its size and weight the RMA suffered from a leisurely performance with a top speed of around 75mph.
