Aston Martin did not really flourish until 1947 when it was in the hands of David Brown. The first designs for the DB1 were made before World War II. He showed a completely new DB1 model in September 1948 (the initials were short for David Brown). The four cylinder, 1,970 cc engine delivered 90 bhp at 4,750 rpm.
