Overview

Produced: 1958-1959, 2000 produced.
Types: Saloon, 4 doors, 4 seats

Introduced in 1957 as a replacement for the Pathfinder, the Riley 2.6 differed in many ways from the earlier car despite looking similar.

The new 2.6 now made use of a Wolseley 6/90 bodyshell along with the 2639cc, BMC C-Series engine which could be found in various other BMC products of the period.

The body of the 2.6 was much higher than the old, low-slung Pathfinder which always had a sleek, sports saloon feel to its styling. Most 2.6's featured two-tone paintwork which had a dividing chrome waist moulding, extra driving lamps also added a touch of glamour to the cars appearance. The 2.6 found few fans amongst traditional Riley customers and as a result only 2,000 had been built by the time production ended in 1959.
