By 1959 Hillman Minx owners were well accustomed to the yearly styling and name changes, therefore the arrival of the Minx Series IIIA came as no surprise. The Series IIIA replaced the equally short lived Series III (1958-59) and was replaced itself in 1960 by the IIIB. The next Minx update arrived in 1961, although this the Series IIIC would stay in production until 1963.
The Series IIIA introduced revised styling and a floor mounted gear-change, the IIIB had a new rear axle and IIIC introduced a more powerful 1592cc four cylinder engine.
