Following the demise of the Ford 100E Anglia and Prefect Morgan were forced to adopt the new 105E Anglia engine in its 997cc form. The new Anglia engine offered overhead valve technology and a much improved overall level of performance and service life. The new 4/4 Series III also used the four speed transmission also found in the 105E Anglia.
Little else on the 4/4 changed, the open body looked the same as before and still retained all of the Morgan features and construction methods.
