In 1976 TVR finally made an important and long awaited change to the 3000M range, the car now had an opening luggage area!. The new car, renamed Taimar, featured an opening, one piece glass tailgate making it a practical proposition for many enthusiasts.
Apart from some minor trim changes the rest of the car remained unchanged, however a 2500 model was never made available. Performance from the Ford 3.0 litre V6 unit was unchanged thanks to the very small weight increase which was only 20Ibs.
In addition to the standard car a Taimar Turbo model was also available featuring a Broadspeed turbocharged V6 unit. This impressive unit developed 230bhp which meant a top speed of over 140mph and a sub-six second 0-60 time. Only 30 of these high performance cars were ever built.
