A year after the launch of the excellent 850 Fiat added new Coupe and Spyder models to enhance the 850 range. The new 850's used a tuned version of the 843cc four cylinder engine normally found in the standard 850 saloon. From 1968 a bigger 903cc unit was fitted and this improved the already impressive 850 performance.
The 850 Spyder had its own unique Bertone bodystyle based on 850 saloon running gear. The 903cc facelift model of 1968 could allegedly reach 100mph whilst still remaining economical.
