Fiat 124 Coupe

Overview

Produced: 1966-1975, 280000 produced.
Types: Coupe, 2 doors, 4 seats

A new small coupe joined the Fiat range in 1967, the 124 Coupe, based on the recently introduced 124 saloon. This exciting "budget coupe" would remain in production, with a host of revisions and styling tweaks, until 1975 with sales topping a quarter of a million units.

Despite its clean and elegant styling the 124 Coupe had to make do with humble 124 suspension and chassis under-pinnings. This did nothing to stop the little coupe from topping 100mph thanks to its 90bhp 1438cc engine. From 1969 the 124 Coupe received a 110bhp 1.6 litre engine which was finally replaced with a 1.8 litre unit in 1972.
