Throughout the 1960's Fiat continued to develop its range of models to encompass all of the important market segments with a new model introduced as and when a gap appeared. In 1967, a year after its small 124 range had been launched, Fiat added a bigger sister to the 124, the 1.6 litre Fiat 125.

The 125 had a similar "3 box" body to the smaller 124, in fact the doors and middle section were the same. The 125 was longer overall and featured better trim and quad headlamp styling.

Thanks to the 1608cc four cylinder engine the standard 125 could reach 100mph, from 1968 a 100bhp, 125 Special joined the standard model. Production continued until 1972.
