Hatched from the Ferrari "spin-off" Dino Project which resulted in the famous Dino 206/246 sportscars the 1966 Dino 2000 was sold under the parent company Fiat banner. Followed later by the larger capacity 2400 model the Dino 2000 came with a Ferrari 1987cc V6, the same unit as used in the sports car Dino.
As before the Dino 2400 came with a choice of either Bertone styled Coupe or Pininfarina Spyder. Both types came with an all-synchromesh five-speed gearbox and only with left hand drive. The project finally finished in 1973.
