Hatched from the Ferrari "spin-off" Dino Project which resulted in the famous Dino 206/246 sportscars the 1969 Dino 2400 was sold under the parent company Fiat banner. Following on from the 2000 model the Dino 2400 came with a new 2418cc V6, the same unit as used in the sports car Dino.
As before the Dino 2400 came with a choice of either Bertone styled Coupe or Pininfarina Spyder. Both types came with an all-synchromesh five-speed gearbox and only with left hand drive. The project finally finished in 1973.
