MG Midget Mark I My father bought this car in the mid-80's from a dude who had done good bodywork, but couldn't tune an A-series if you bolted an SU to his nose. We towed it home, tuned it up, and Mom and Dad entered it in a street rally the very next day. It ran flawlessly until 1991, when they moved back to their hometown. The Midget was driven into a sheltered space under an elm tree. Sadly, it never moved again under its own power. In the fall of 2006, now fatherless, I dragged it out its rutted grave and got it under cover in my Mom's 60-year-old garage. I will be trailering it into Edmonton in the fall of 2007, to get it into my own garage. There, I will begin the resurrection process. Interestingly, the carbs from this car served four years on my 1980 Mini 1000. Runaround SU, or what! I will try to post some pics soon. |
