For such a small engine the Peugeot 204 had the amazing ability to cruise at 70 mph with more refinement than most 2000cc saloons of its day. The engine had an overhead camshaft and all four-wheels had independent suspension. There were Girling disc brakes on the front wheels. It was expensive in the UK.
