The first 304 had power-steering in common with the 204. The engine of 1,288 cc produced 60 bhp at 5,750 rpm but the S-version developed 69 bhp at the same rpm. This 4,140mm (163in) long car filled the gap between the smaller 204 and larger 504. This model was also successful.
