After WW2 the SS Car Company became Jaguar Cars, a name change brought about for obvious political reasons! At the same time the 1.5 Litre model received a much improved overhead valve, 1776cc engine - engine power: 65 bhp and 0-60: 28 sec. The 1.5 Litre helped establish Jaguars reputation for building graceful saloon cars, something it still does exceptionally well today.
