The Jaguar 2.5Litre first appeared in 1935 as an SS model (the Jaguar brand name appeared only after WW2) alongside its smaller sister 1.5 Litre model. Like the 1.5 Litre the new 2.5 Litre used a developed Standard engine and traditional mechanical components all fitted to low slung chassis.
The 2.5 Litre came in both 4 door saloon and 2 door Drop Head Coupe form, both designs being well proportioned and graceful to look at. Like the smaller model the 2.5 Litre soldiered on in production until 1948 when the Jaguar Mk V arrived.
