The ultimate version of the XK range arrived in 1958, the XK150S. With its revised "Straight Port" cylinder head, and 2" triple SU carbs, the "S" version of the XK150 developed 250bhp. In 1959 an even more powerful XK150S arrived, powered by a 265bhp 3.8 litre XK engine which would soon appear in the incredible E-type.
In Drophead Coupe form the XK150S had the best of both worlds, glamorous styling and plenty of power, however its traditional styling was a far cry from that of its replacement, the E-type, that would ultimately replace it in 1961.
