Bentley R-Type

I have owned this car for 25 years. It is in excellent unrestored condition. It was the first R Type imported to Australia. The car has a full service history from new, including the build cards from Rolls Royce and every job card and maintenence receipt from 1952 to the present. I am only the third owner and it has never been neglected, hence no need for a restoration. Regular maintenance included the replacement of anything that was worn or in need of replacement. The engine was stripped and inspected for wear 8 years ago at 150,000 odd miles, and apart from cracked rings and a worn timing gear, there was little else wrong. At that time a new harmonic balancer was fitted, a new oil pump, and the head overhauled. There was no decernable wear on the bores!Over the years it has won several club concours, and has failed to proceed only twice. On both occasions it was a dead battery. Of all the cars I have owned it is the one that I would not part with untill I am unable to drive. It is in regular use, these days mostly on weekends for country driving.
