Introduced in 1956 the Rover P4 105S became the new flagship model providing more performance and extra equipment over the standard models. The 105S had a twin-carb six cylinder engine of 2639cc which developed 108bhp. The 105S came with an overdrive manual gearbox as standard and could reach a top speed of around 100mph.

The 105S shared the new revised P4 bodyshell with the automatic only 105R which also entered production in 1956. The 105S used the same facelifted bodyshell as the 105R. The new shell had a better looking front end with neater lamp details and a revised wing line. As with other models in the range the 105S had a well appointed interior trimmed in leather and walnut veneer.
