Rover P5 3-litre Mk II Coupe

Rover introduced Mk II versions of its P5 3-Litre model in 1962. The Mk II now had a more powerful 2995cc engine (same capacity as before but now with 129bhp), an improved gearchange and lower slung suspension to improve handling. The most important change however was the addition of a four door "Coupe" bodystyle which sold alongside the standard Saloon version.

The Coupe was really a four door saloon with a lower roof line, particularly at the rear of the car. The rear doors had lower-cut window frames and the centre pillar was less intrusive than that of the Saloon model. Despite the improved looks sales were slow and the Coupe was continually outsold by the Saloon.
