Wolseley 6/80

Wolseley announced its most important model, the 6/80, in 1948 alongside the other similar looking cars in the new 1948 Nuffield range. The 6/80 shared its body with the Morris Six, a car which maybe due to its bland appearance, failed to capture the buying public imagination.

Power for the 6/80 came in the form of a 2215cc, 72bhp six cylinder engine, complete with twin SU carbs and a four speed gearbox (which used a column change) altogether this package produced lively performance figures by late 40's standards!. The 6/80 soon became famous for its reliable service as a front line Police patrol car, these large, powerful cars served in this glamorous role for many years.
