Lot 045: 1951 MERCEDES-BENZ 220 SALOON
Finished in light grey with brown corduroy upholstery, this particular left-hand drive example has been part of the collection since 1970. A practical four-door saloon, its interior re-trim was the work of none other than Mrs. Marry Van Dijk. Boasting braided B-post pulls, tinted sun visors, ribbed rubber mats and fold-down chrome coat hooks, it also benefits from wood trim to its dashboard / door cappings. Showing an unwarranted 67,635km on its odometer (though an accompanying Dutch logbook records 37,676km in 1965), it carries a Bosch blue coil, Mann chromed air filter, Bosch headlamps and a Bilstein Voigt jack.
