Lot 304: 1983 Yamaha 200cc RS200

Collectors' Motorcycles, Bonhams (16 October 2005)

The RS200 was one of two generations of Japanese motorcycles which made those from other countries including Britain obsolete and established new standards for two-wheelers. A smooth and nippy twin two-stroke, its 80 mph performance and good handling bore little resemblance to the old British 197 class. This example has been little-used in the past six years and has been well maintained, new chains, sprockets, tyres, and clutch being fitted during the present ownership. With a full MOT and a set of new ignition spares supplied, this RS200 will make an excellent riding lightweight.
