Lot 308: 1958 Triumph 350cc Twenty-One
Triumph introduced the 350cc ‘21’- commemorating the anniversary of the first Speed Twin - in late 1957 for the following season. Partly as a response to the then trend for machine enclosure, scooter-style, the rear of the machine was designed to feature enclosure with the famous ‘Bath-tub’, which housed the electrics and the toolkit. Not universally popular, the ‘21’ was, for some time, the only 350 in Triumph’s range and sold well. This early machine has had the ‘bath-tub’ removed and has been in store, incomplete, for some time. It has a V5 for its Shropshire number.
