Lot 297: c1970 Triumph 1,000cc Four
Talented engineers have been creating their own one-off, multi-cylinder machines by uniting two, three, four or more engines since motorcycling began. In recent times, multi-engined machines have most often been seen at the dragstrip, but this example was built for highway use. It is the creation of Rod Coates, ex-Triumph of Baltimore Service Manager and 1950 Daytona junior race winner on a Triumph GP. This unique machine uses two 500cc Triumph Daytona engines connected in tandem and has an electric starter and stock bodywork. Its serial number dates the frame from circa 1962. This machine is offered with a Certificate of Title.
