Lot 329: c1977 Honda XL250

Sale of Collectors' Motorcycles, Bonhams & Butterfields (12 November 2005)

Honda’s long line of successful off-road models commenced in 1972 with the launch of the SL250 trail bike, though the nomenclature soon changed to the more familiar XL250. The XL’s single-cylinder four-stroke engine was typically Honda, being an all-alloy, four-valve unit, and this was housed in a robust cradle-type frame. The XL trail range was greatly expanded in 1974 with the arrival of models in 125, 175 and 350cc capacities, the smaller duo having two-valve ’heads. According to the vendor this XL250 is offered in running condition.
