Lot 210: Jaguar E-Type S3 FHC

Jaguar Heritage Auction, Barons (11 June 2006)

The Series Three E-Type was a heavily modified version of the its predecessors. The car was wider and longer, it had a wider track, beefier wheels and tyres but most importantly, it had 285bhp on tap and could outperform most of the opposition with its 140+mph and startling acceleration.Unlike the S1 and S2, the S3 came in two, rather than three forms. You could either have a roadster or a fixed head coupe, which were both built on the same wheelbase. The fixed head offered 2+2 accommodation while the roadster had extra luggage space behind the seats. This fixed head coupe was in the previous owners care for 11 years and is said to have benefited from a fully rebuilt rear cage, including suspension, axle and brakes, new chrome wire wheels, new tyres, new carpets and reconnolised leather during his ownership. The current owner is reluctantly selling the car after only one year because of a change in circumstances. This owner has had a major service carried out, which inlcuded all 12 plugs, filters, oil, and transmission fluids, plus two new tyres and brake checks.Finished in blue with biscuit interior, the car is equipped with a Webasto sunroof and a stainless steel exhaust system. It is said to have been regularly serviced and is offered complete with previous MoT certificates and invoices for works carried out.
