Lot 127: Rolls-Royce Corniche Coupe
A two-door version of the Silver Shadow was available from 1966 from the MPW division of Rolls-Royce and was, until 1971, known as the Mulliner Parkward 2 Door Coupe. In 1971 Rolls-Royce made some internal changes and took the bulk of the build in-house, with finishing work carried out at MPW. This involved moving the cars from Crew to London and back to Crew but it was obviously cost effective. The most obvious outward change was the adoption of the Corniche name, which was boldly displayed on the o/s of the boot lid.
Offered here is a 1974 Corniche, which has been held in a private collection for some time. The car has recently been removed from storage and subjected to some light recommissioning, in readiness for returning to use.
Finished in Georgian Silver with grey hide, the car is offered complete with the valuable registration number RRC346 and is described as being in very nice condition bodily with nice original interior. The vendor does state that the wood veneer would benefit from re-lacquering.
