Lot 204: Matchless G80S

Classic & Vintage Cars & Motorcycles, Brightwells Auctioneers and Valuers (23 June 2010)

This machine was rebuilt by a Matchless enthusiast in 2000, when it was registered XSJ 997 by the DVLA. The motorcycle frame is a 1951 unit and the engine is also a 1951 G80. The DVLA have put in their special notes rebuilt assembled from parts some or all which were not new. Buyers must satisfy themselves on this point before purchase. We believe the speedo stopped recording mileage in 2007 as all the MOTs since show the same mileage (15,999), while the most recent MOT and tax expired at the end of April 2010. The bike runs and rides and has taken the Welsh hills with no problems. The saddle can be replaced on this model with a dual seat but the previous owner preferred solo.
