Lot 037: BMW 323i Convertible
Launched in 1991 and remaining in production until 2000, the E36 version of the highly-rated BMW 3-Series was a beautifully built compact sporting four-seater that came in saloon, coupe and convertible body styles. It was powered by a range of engines from a 1.6-litre four-cylinder to a 3-litre straight-six, all with rear-wheel drive and superb handling characteristics for the keen driver.
First registered in April 1999, this 323i Convertible has covered just 44,000 miles from new and is said to be in excellent condition throughout. It is powered by a creamy smooth 2.5-litre 24v twin-cam straight-six mated to a 4-speed automatic gearbox. The engine develops some 170bhp and is good for a top speed of 139mph. Paintwork is dark blue metallic complemented by a beige hide interior.
Equipment includes an electrically powered hood, windows and mirrors, air conditioning and a 6-disc CD autochanger. New front brake discs and pads have just been fitted along with new rear coil springs. It comes with a small amount of service history, all its original handbooks and two sets of keys with remotes. Taxed until December and with an MOT until June 2012, it is ready to drive away today.
