Lot 203: BSA A65 Thunderbolt
BSA had been soldiering on with their pre-unit engine and gearbox for many years but in 1963 they unveiled the unit A65 where engine and gearbox were housed in the same casings, producing a streamlined egg appearance and at the same time cleaning up the lines of the engine department for the swinging 60's. The design was still iconic enough to be chosen for Michael Elphick's steed in the TV series Boon some decades later.
This 1965 machine has been subject to a rebuild over recent years benefiting from new paintwork and chromework. It is in running order and supplied with a V5 on it's original Gloucestershire 1965 number.
