Lot 101: Rover P6 2000

Classic Car Sale, Charterhouse (22 April 2012)

40076242J, Arden green. Rover's all new P6 sports saloon arrived in 1963 to replace the old auntie P4, with an all new angular body, it was aimed squarely at the thrusting young executive market, taking on Ford's Zephyr 6/Zodiac and Jaguar's MK2 in the middle management sales war. Initially available with a two litre four cylinder engine, with either single carburettor or twin carburettors from 1966. It would later have the Buick designed small block V8 engine option from 1968 when the model became the P6 3500. First registered on 23rd October 1969, this P6 2000 single carburettor model has only had four registered owners from new. Finished in a most attractive colour combination of Arden green with tan leather interior. The interior has the original radio fitted and the very cool strip speedo. There is a large history file containing numerous maintenance receipts, owners handbook and original workshop manual. The vendor informs us that the Rover has received regular maintenance as necessary during his ownership including the recent fitting of two new front tyres, a reconditioned brake servo and a new battery. Said to be driving very well, MRO 357H has only been used sparingly during its present ownership to attend classic car shows and special occasions. V5C, ***MOT to May 2013 (not May 2012)***, tax exempt
