Lot 152: Mercedes-Benz 500SL

Classic Car Sale, Charterhouse (22 April 2012)

The Mercedes- Benz R107 series of roadsters and coups were in production between 1971 and 1989. Initially available with the 3.5 litre V8 engine, subsequently the V8 engines were increased to size to 4.2 litre and 5 litre, there would also be a 2.8 litre straight six engined version. Always renowned for their excellent build quality, all models are

more than capable of delivering reliable elegant daily transport. This low mileage two owner automatic 500SL, has always been maintained to the highest standard. There is a full Mercedes-Benz service history chronicling the recorded mileage of 69,000 miles. The second and current owner acquired the car in 1993 and has used it mainly for Continental touring. Finished in the very attractive colour combination of silver with a blue mohair hood and dark blue leather interior, it also comes complete with the very useful factory steel hard top, which affectively turns the roadster into a coup. The history file contains the aforementioned full Mercedes-Benz service history, ***a good run of old MOTs (but not all)***, owners manuals and service books. This very original and beautifully maintained 500SL now awaits a new enthusiastic owner to maintain her in the style to which she has become accustomed. V5C, MOT to August 2012, tax to July 2012
