Lot 075: Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor

Classic & Vintage Cars & Motorcycles, Brightwells Auctioneers and Valuers (16 May 2012)

Sheriff Billy McGee is a local hero in Forrest County Mississippi. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, he sent three deputies into the Army-run aid centre and commandeered two ice trucks, arresting one of the Army Captains in the process. You can imagine the furore! The area he policed had been without fresh water for a week and following his actions he took on Robin Hood status, being voted in for his next term of office by over 90% of the local population. According to the vendor of this fine Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, it was the Sheriff's personal car, being imported into the UK a year after the hurricane in 2006. Built in 1999 as a regular spec patrol car with its 4.6 litre V8, it is complete with working PA, lights and siren. MOTd until March 2013 and with bills for recent gearbox work, this genuine cop model has good tyres, electric windows and central locking and would be a hoot for the school run, or as a practical way to get to those late appointments on time. Definitely not for the shy and retiring, if a police car is on your shopping list, this prime example with its interesting past is the one for you.
