Lot 231: Jaguar XKR 100 Coup
The XK8 is a grand tourer car that was launched in 1996 and was the first generation of a new XK series available in both coup or convertible body styles and with the new 4.0 litre Jaguar AJ-V8 engine. The 1998 XKR was introduced with a supercharged version of the engine. Both the XK8 and XKR are electronically limited to a maximum of 155mph, the top speed of its predecessor, the XJS V12, being 158mph. A navigation system and self-leveling xenon headlamps came as standard with the XKR with Jaguar's adaptive cruise control as an optional feature available on both models. Both come with all leather interior, burr walnut trim and side airbags. Jeremy Clarkson, during a Top Gear test-drive, likened the interior of the original XK8 to sitting inside Blenheim Palace. Built to celebrate the centenary of Jaguar's founder, a total of 500 'XKR 100' coupes or convertibles were manufactured in 2002 and featuring Anthracite paint finish, Recaro seats, 20" BBS alloy wheels, Brembo brakes and a custom interior.
This Jaguar XKR 100 was supplied by Harwoods of Chichester and first registered on 23rd January. Having covered 63,000 miles since and with a full Jaguar main dealer service history, this is one of the most desirable models available; due mainly to the limited numbers produced and the high level of specification. Finished in black with black trim, this not only looks fantastic, it is superb to drive. Supplied with a V5 registration document and an MoT test certificate valid until March 2013.
