Lot 138: Jaguar XJS 4.0 Convertible

Annual Jaguar Heritage + Sports and Prestige Cars, Barons (28 May 2012)

Finally, after a break of 13 years, Jaguar introduced a full convertible variant of the XJS in 1988. With further revisions over the years and the introduction of the six cylinder versions, the XJS was able to fill its full potential. Latterly available with the 6.0 V12 and 4.0 straight six, the XJS convertible was an extremely popular car, with the "Celebration" models achieving extraordinary prices.

This example was originally registered to Jaguar Cars, Browns Lane as a company car, the vehicle has had 5 former keepers. Has been with the present owner since 2004 and used very sparingly in that time, hence the low recorded mileage, which is believed to be correct with the service booklet showing 11 services between 1995 and 2011 and MOT certificates in support.

Finished in Flamenco red with cream leather interior and equipped with the usual Jaguar options, including a 6-CD Auto-changer, in the boot. The vehicle was valued, for insurance purposes, at 11,000 in 2011.

Why pay 18,000.00 for a Celebration model?
