Lot 181: Bentley Turbo R
The Turbo R was another step in the progression towards a more sporting image for the Marque and the realisation that the sporting heritage of Bentley had been ignored by Rolls Royce for too long. With its turbo charged 6.7 litre V8 engine, tuned suspension and uprated brakes, the Turbo R could provide the luxury and finesse usually associated with a Bentley but the model also had a sporting side, which became evident when one depressed the throttle with a little more urgency. The Turbo R could waft it's occupants to 60mph in 6.3 seconds and on to135 mph The specimen offered here is said to be a very good example of this amazing model, with Bentley service history up to 64000 miles in 2000. The car has only driven 23,000 miles since for which there is specialist history. Described as a beautiful driving car in excellent, all round condition.
