Lot 194: Jaguar XJS Celebration 4.0 Conv

Annual Jaguar Heritage + Sports and Prestige Cars, Barons (28 May 2012)

Finally, after a break of 13 years, Jaguar introduced a full convertible variant of the XJS in 1988. With further revisions over the years and the introduction of the six cylinder versions, the XJS was able to fill its full potential. Latterly available with the 6.0 V12 and 4.0 straight six, the XJS convertible was an extremely popular car, with the "Celebration" models achieving extraordinary prices. What we have here is a "Celebration" 4.0 Convertible, which was originally purchased in Texas, then acquired by a British owner in Texas, while working there and then repatriated to the UK when he returned. Since coming back to Europe the car has had a complete retrim of the interior, in 2008, in Germany and a complete repaint to better than factory specification. The vendor has spent over 4,000 in the last year. bringing the car up to the current standard, which he says is outstanding. Finished in factory black with full black leather, the car is MoT tested through to March 2013 and taxed until September 2012. The photograph is a library item for reference purposes only.
