Lot 130: BSA 172cc Bantam Bushman

Important Collectors' Motorcars & Motorcycles, Bonhams (16 June 2012)

The Bushman first joined the Bantam line-up in 1966 with the launch of the four-speed D10. A model aimed at the increasingly important trail bike market sector, the stylish Bushman featured increased ground clearance, a high-level exhaust system, 19"-diameter wheels, trail tyres, a crankcase shield and lowered gearing. The Bantam's final incarnation - the D175 with much-revised engine - appeared in 1969 but although production of the standard roadster model continued until 1971, the Bushman was dropped in 1970. Nothing is known of the history of this particular Bantam Bushman, though we understand that a Swansea V5C document has been applied for.
