Lot 41: BMW 728i

Classics Cars, Charterhouse (15 July 2012)

BMW's new 7 series luxury saloons were introduced in 1977, initially with carburettor fed six cylinder engines, which would subsequently be upgraded to L-jetronic fuel injection system from 1979. Always luxuriously appointed and safety conscious, they were the first BMW's fitted with service interval indicators, ABS braking system, on board computers and climate control. This past concours winning automatic 728i has covered a believed 102,000 miles from new. The bodywork is finished in red with a glass sunroof. The lavishly appointed grey cloth interior has all the usual luxury refinements, including electric windows, climate control and power assisted steering. Good examples of the early 7 series saloon are now becoming a rare sight on today's roads, and this well maintained example can be pressed into everyday service, or it could continue its show career. V5C, ***no current MOT or tax. The last MOT expired in February 2012
