Lot 54: Triumph TR6

Classics Cars, Charterhouse (15 July 2012)

The TR6 was the last of the hairy chested big six cylinder engined TR's that were in production from 1969 to 1976. During the seven year production run nearly 95,000 cars rolled off the production line, with a staggering 91% being exported, mainly to North America. The TR6 incorporated Karmann of Germany's square cut restyled body with the 2.5 litre, six cylinder Lucas fuel injected Engine and running gear from the previous TR5. The vendor informs us that the TR has been maintained as necessary rather than having been restored. During his ownership some sensible modifications have been carried out to aid modern traffic conditions, including a Bosch fuel pump, rear telescopic shock absorber conversion, Alden electronic ignition, Magnecore spark plug leads and a stainless steel exhaust. Finished in bright red with a black vinyl interior and black vinyl soft top with hood cover. It is fitted with a desirable manual overdrive gearbox ( the overdrive is currently not functioning). A well maintained TSSC owned example which now needs a new home and is reluctantly being sold due to a recent lack of use. V5C, MOT to May 2013, tax to September 2012
